Publisher Description

Fence! (Pro) is a more advanced version of Fence!

Fence! (Pro) has been designed from the ground up for fencing referees. The app features easy to user timers, large button targets, and an uncluttered display.

Optical scanning of standard FencingTime pool sheets lets you track fencers names, numbers, and results in your phone, saving you precious seconds at the end of every bout.

Fence! (Pro) understands every aspect of a fencing match, from standard pools to DE bouts to team events. At every step, Fence! (Pro) knows what should happen next and makes it easy for you to move to the next step. (Time expired in the first period? The app immediately asks to start the rest break timer. Passivity time reached? Time for p-cards!)

Fence! (Pro) incorporates the new USFA passivity rules and keeps a separate passivity timer, letting you keep your focus on the action.

You can still use Fence! (Pro) in "practice" mode for simple bout situations.

Version History Adds new 2026 passivity rules option.

Go to Settings > Apps > Fence! (Pro). By default, 2026 P-cards is enabled. If you need to live in the past, just disable it. 1.1.20 Sep 28 Adds alternate access key for remote. 1.1.19 11/28/2024 Refines the behavior if the phone, as a remote, disconnects from the scorebox. 1.1.18 11/16/2024 Adds some debugging for testing purposes. 1.1.17 11/05/2024 Adds a button to immediately make a remote FencingKiosk display show the next bout,
cleanups up passivity stops with remote box. 1.1.16 11/01/2024 Fixes a bug that might cause some battery train during non-pool mode. 1.1.15 10/31/2024 Fixes a bug when verifying the score on remote bluetooth connected modules. 1.1.14 10/30/2024 Switches to the wide-angle camera on later iPhones when scanning QR codes. 1.1.13 10/29/2024 Bug fix: the "bouts" tab was replicated in the "Manage Pools" tabbed view. 1.1.12 10/22/2024 This version provides support for a anyone who builds a bluetooth device that conforms to our home-grown specification for fencing remote control devices over bluetooth. 1.1.11 10/10/2024 Updated location of support web page, app privacy policy web page. 1.1.10 03/06/2024 Switched support to octoparry.com. 1.1.9 03/03/2024 A button to reset passivity (for epee DE/team bouts) has been added to the main screen. This QR code can be scanned much more quickly and reliably than the optical scanning we have previously relied on, which will be phased out soon.

Bug fix: you can once again edit the names of fencers by tapping on their name in the fencer list view. Previously, the name was scrolling out of sight, making it impossible to edit.

Coming soon: an iPad version of Fence! Pro, which delivers an easy-to-use score sheet and direct editor, without being a score app. Perfect for tracking your or another fencer's progress, or using to score an entire pool from the sidelines. Look for "FencingKiosk", in late June/early July 2022! 1.1.6 06/20/2022 Restored italic text in penalty chart (indicates penalties which anull touches). 1.1.5 06/03/2021 An option to manually select the next bout in pool mode helps when double stripping.
Bug fix: when jumping to a new bout, fencers names didn't update until the first touch was scored. 1.1.4 06/02/2021 Option for 90-second DE rest break (due to COVID-19 and masks)
The "Mark Bout as Finished" option now presents Left/Right victory options if the score is tied (i.e. presumably in priority). 1.1.3 05/18/2021 iOS 14 bug fixes. 1.1.2 10/19/2020 Scan in a FencingTime poolsheet and run the pool from your phone!

Say goodbye to trying to figure out the next bout, the on deck bout, while juggling to record the last bout: once you've scanned a pool sheet, Fence! Pro will prompt tell you who's fencing, who's next, record the scores, and even make sure fencers are on the correct side of the strip!

The camera scanner scans pool sheets from FencingTime in just a second, with high accuracy. Give it a try! 1.1.0 06/04/2020 Works correctly for Dark Mode.
Announces score more consistently: (e.g. Victory Left, score 2-5). 1.0.3 01/20/2020 In a Team match, touches scored are announced ahead of each bout. 1.0.2 11/08/2019 1.0 04/03/2019
